The SQ5 has plenty of power that pulls it to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, and the standard adaptive air suspension keeps the ride smooth while delivering calm, confident handling. The interior is standard Audi fare, featuring clean lines, bright screens, and attractive lighting elements. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission replaces the previous SQ5's conventional eight-speed; the new transmission impressed us with its smooth operation. Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system is, as usual, standard, and an adaptive air suspension is now included, as well. The SQ5 features two new drive modes, Balanced and Offroad Plus. Balance blends the attributes of the Comfort and more aggressive Dynamic modes, while Offroad Plus grants the traction control and stability system a bit more leeway for off-road situations. The new SQ5 dramatically increases the available screen area compared to its predecessor, with an 11.9-inch digital gauge cluster, a larger 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and an available 10.9-inch passenger display. The latter features a privacy mode that keeps the driver from being distracted while the passenger streams content or plays games. The software was developed using Googles Android Automotive, but support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is still standard. A head-up display is available, as is a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo system. The SQ5's interior doesn't disappoint. Rear legroom increased for this latest generation.
